The L.A. Girl foundation reminded me of the Makeup Forever HD foundation and the coverage was definitely medium to full but I wore it more medium for today. I will wear it again and build it up to full coverage.
Today I used it with my Farsali Unicorn Essence and this foundation did give a luminous look to my skin. Unfortunately I don’t think that this is the best priming product to use with this foundation as the foundation felt like it will slip. I set down the foundation with my Too Faced Born This Way setting powder but by the afternoon the foundation did start to break up around my nose. Next time I will use a primer that holds down foundation better e.g. the Maybelline SuperStay Primer.
The Essence Powder was used over concealer under my eye to brighten up my eye area. I have never been able to use Banana Powders in the past as they are always too yellow for me. I tried but decided to stop when my mother asked me to have my liver tested because I look rather yellow (ouch)!
This powder has a very slight yellow tint which works very well with my skin tone and will work well on those lighter in complexion than me and who know the struggle. This is a matte highlighting powder that can also be used on the forehead, down the bridge of your nose and on your cheek bones. It worked well throughout the day and didn’t crease under my eye (whoopie!!!).
The last few months have been a truly marvelous experience as I spent time dabbling into drugstore makeup. I have always just used high end makeup and I believed that only high end makeup would give me the best look. However as I have been more involved in the makeup industry and I chat to other women I have become more intrigued by what is available at the drugstore.
I am thrilled to say that there are amazing foundations at the drugstore that work extremely well and this L.A. Girl foundation is one such find. I will continue to try out more makeup from the drugstore and let you know my thoughts and help you wade through the hits and misses.
I hoped you enjoyed this read. I look forward to your comments and please do follow me so you receive emails notifying you of my new posts.
